So far, I’ve found 2020 to be pretty stressful. Already this year, we watched the pandemic ravage the world and now civil protests and unrest are popping up all over the world.
The last few months have had my anxiety levels at record highs which means I’ve been getting through more cannabis than ever before. This is a problem for two reasons:
- My new year’s resolution was to finally quit smoking.
- I can’t smoke THC during the day because I am working from home.
Thankfully, 2020 does have its advantages; one of them being the fact that there are more ways to enjoy cannabis than ever before.
Below I share two new ways I’m enjoying cannabis.
As I mentioned, I’m currently working from home. Because this requires several video calls a day I’m wary of dosing with my high THC strains during the day. As a result, for the very first time, I decided to try cannabidiol, or CBD for short.
The Cannabis plant is home to many several hundred terpenes and CBD is just one of those. Like THC, CBD is known to reduce stress and anxiety without any psychoactive effects. This means I can vape it all day without becoming high at all. This is perfect for busy days and long Zoom meetings.
These days, CBD comes in just about any form. I’ve seen (and tried) CBD tea, creams, and even suppositories. However, my favorite way to enjoy CBD is to vape it.
There are countless CBD brands available and of course, each claim to be the best. However, a brand that I’ve really taken to is a UK company called Elevate CBD
They are one of the only UK brands that guarantee their product is organic and independently lab-tested.
Elevate CBD E-Liquid comes in two main forms. The first is their general 50/50 pg/vg (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin) E-Liquid. These are great for you if you enjoy tasting different flavors.
They also stock a more traditional type of vape oil called Entourage. Further to containing CBD, Entourage also contains other compounds other cannabis compounds such as CBN and CBG. These compounds are said to work together to enhance the effects of CBD; this is called the ‘Entourage effect’ – hence the name!
If you vape cannabis to calm your nerves but can’t risk being high during the day, I implore you to give CBD a chance; you won’t regret it!
Dry Herb Vaporizers
When you smoke cannabis, your bud burns at over 1000°c and releases a dangerous cocktail of toxins and carcinogens which you then ingest into your lungs.
On the other hand, when you use a dry herb vaporizer, your cannabis is heated only to around 200°c which is hot enough to release all of your herb’s cannabinoids without causing the plant matter to combust.
There are over 100 different models to choose from so I suggest finding a good dry herb vaporizer review site and reading about the pros and cons of different models.
The vape I’m using at the moment is the Pax 3. Pax is to dry herb vaporizer what Apple is to the smartphone market. Their vaporizers function great and look great whilst doing so!
Pretty much any dry herb vaporizer has temperature control. However, the Pax 3 takes this concept up another gear with vaping modes – this adds another level of personalization and is a favorite feature of veteran vapers.
The modes you can choose from are:
Boost: For when you want to squeeze every last terpene out of your bud
Efficiency: when you’re close to dankrupt and want to get some mileage out of herbs
Taste: When you want quality over quantity
Stealth: When you want to enjoy your cannabis in peace
