The Legality of it All

If you don’t know much about CBD, you may be asking is it even legal? Yes, it is 100% legal in all 50 states. CBD, or cannabidiol, is usually extracted from the hemp or comes from marijuana plants, but this does not produce a high like THC which is also found in marijuana plants.

So far, the FDA has only approved one drug containing CBD which is Epidolex for previously uncontrolled seizures but people are using CBD for all kinds of different things. Several studies have shown that products containing CBD are safe but haven’t completely proven its effectiveness.

The reason why CBD products have become so popular is from all of the hype. Pretty much anyone who has used CBD in some way will rave about it to anyone and everyone making more and more people want to try it.

The FDA currently will not let manufacturers put a recommended dose on CBD products but they do come with a recommended serving size. If you’re interested in taking CBD for any health reasons, then you should first consult your doctor. They will know what’s best for you based on your health.

CBD does have a lot of health benefits but there are also many CBD myths that you should be watching out for before you try to add it into your daily care routine.

Try CBD for Treating Anxiety

Most of the time anxiety disorders are treated with psychotherapy, medication, or a combination of both but more people have been trying to use CBD to treat anxiety. Of course, you should also speak with your doctor before trying anything new and makes sure you’re both on the same page about your treatment.

So far, a common theme with treating any health issue with CBD has not been 100% scientifically proven but there is a little research on the subject. There is research shown that CBD oil can treat conditions such as anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

CBD works on the body’s endocannabinoid system, which helps to increase self-regulation, mood, and relaxation. It can also help your body to make its own cannabinoids naturally and these will stick around longer helping to produce a calming effect.

Easing Epileptic Seizures

As mentioned previously, Epidilex is the only drug containing CBD that has been approved by the FDA so far. This drug can help reduce seizures as well as the side effects of them.

So far, trying to treat epilepsy with CBD has undergone a few clinical trials and we have more and more research on it. When running a test on children with epilepsy they determined that Epidilex, which is primarily CBD, helped to reduce the side effects of seizures such as tiredness, decreased appetite, diarrhea, etc. This was much better than other pharmaceutical medicine they had tried in the past.

You have a problem seen CBD advertised in makeup or face creams and that’s because it could have health benefits for your skin. CBD helps to reduce inflammation which is essentially why we get acne.

CBD oil helps to reduce inflammation and prevent the activation of pro-acne agents. There have been a small number of studies show that CBD can help acne and it is safe to use.

Heart Health and CBD

CBD has recently been linked to several benefits for the heart, circulatory system, and even to reduce high blood pressure. This is great because high blood pressure has been linked to higher risks of stroke, heart attack, and metabolic syndrome.

There are claims that because of the calming effects of CBD, like how it reduces stress and anxiety, this also helps to reduce high blood pressure. Also, several animal studies have been conducted to show that CBD can reduce oxidative stress and prevent heart damage in diabetic mice with heart disease.
