A Beginners Guide to Growing Marijuana Indoors

With the legalization of the marijuana sector around the world, more and more people are thinking about growing marijuana indoors.

If you are thinking about starting to cultivate, but do not know how to do it, do not worry, in this post we explain how to grow marijuana indoors for beginners.

Do you want to know how it is done?

We will divide all the necessary knowledge for the indoor cultivation of marijuana in 9 steps, and we will see one by one how to manage them to get your marijuana plants to grow.

The most important thing before starting to grow marijuana indoors is to be clear about what type of cannabis we want to plant:

The first thing is to define if you want a feminized or Autoflowering seed (feminized and automatic seed).

Second, it is important to define whether it will be Sativa or Indica. The Sativa, being typical of equatorial regions, are larger and resistant to warm climates; Indica, on the other hand, tend to be smaller and to withstand colder climates.

The sativa reach sizes of between 3 to 5 meters, while the Indica grow between 1 and 2 meters, so to grow marijuana indoors, we recommend some kind of Indica cannabis or at least a hybrid.

This is how you grow marijuana indoors at home

Constructing your marijuana growing place can be the most onerous and exhausting part of the process of growing your marijuana plant indoors. The designated room can be a whole room, a bedroom closet or even a home – a built grow box.

Here are a few things you need to consider when growing your marijuana indoors.

Container:

Fabric pots are most advisable than plastic pots. Oxygen can reach the roots better and excess water can drain.

Location:

Just like real estate, location is quite crucial when choosing where to plant your marijuana. The topmost concern is not to choose a high traffic spot where people can interfere with its growth or it can easily be seen by other people.

Size:

Depending on the strain of the marijuana plant, the size of the location should have enough space (length, width, and height) once the plant reaches maturity.

Light:

Your chosen grow room should be secluded and out of the way from the other external light sources. Light leaking out from your marijuana garden can easily tip off people to your precious plant’s presence.  Check out https://growace.com/grow-light.html for a great resource and supplier of grow lights.

Lighting: Types of Lighting & the Intensity

  • HID (High Intensity discharge) Lamps

50-80W per Sq Ft Needed

  • LED (Light-Emitting Diode) Lighting

50-80W per Sq Ft Needed

(Actual Watts not LED Watts)

  • CFL (Compact Fluorescent) Bulbs

80-100W Per Sq Ft needed

  • T5 Fluorescent Lighting

80-100W per sq ft needed

  • Light not to use

Incandescent and anything not mentioned here

Humidity:

Marijuana plants love a place with around 40 to 60% humidity. So you may want to use a dehumidifier or a humidifier to achieve such conditions.

Temperature:

Marijuana plants like to grow at the temperature between 75 to 85oF. Take into account that your lighting will help bring up your room temperature.

Seeds:

Plant your seeds ½ inch into the soil. Keep it moist but be careful not to overwater it. It may drown the sprouting seed.

Flowering:

This is the stage your plants start making buds. This stage will last until harvest. During this time, explore to light should be scaled down to 12 hours a day.

Dry Buds:

After you have cut off and trimmed all of your buds. You will want to hang them upside down in a cool, dark place with plenty of ventilation so that they can dry out.
