9 Remarkable Health-Related Benefits Of Using CBD

Research on CBD (cannabidiol) shows that it has vast therapeutic properties. Some of the findings of different studies suggest that vaping CBD could have significant health benefits in treating and managing various health disorders.

According to a study done in Brazil in 1973, CBD was found to block or lower convulsions in rodents. The findings were confirmed by similar research conduction in the following year. In another study, people dealing with epilepsy were given 200-300mg of CBD daily and began to experience fewer seizures.

A good example is that of Charlotte Figi, a young girl who had Dravet’s Syndrome, which is a rare condition that is hard to treat using conventional medicines. Figi was given a tincture made from a specific cannabis strain that has high levels of CBD and low THC levels; the strain was later christened Charlotte’s Web. Presently, Charlotte Figi enjoys a healthier life with here seizures cut down drastically to nearly 2 episodes in a month, down from approximately 300 a week.

In June of 2019, the FDA in the U.S. approved the use of a CBD-based drug called Epidiolex to treat seizures in patients aged 2 years and above. The medication for the first CBD-based drug to receive a nod from the FDA. It is a product that contained purified cannabis extracts.  In research that involved 120 subjects receiving the drug, it was found that the medicine was effective in lowering the frequency of the seizures dramatically compared to the use of a placebo.

People that use CBD like that offered by OrganicCBDNugs for the first time might experience minor drowsiness after vaping the cannabidiol oil, especially when administered at a high dose. In the early 1970s, a study investigating the effects of CBD on the sleep habits of rodents showed that it induced sleep. The findings suggested that CBD could effectively be used to help people struggling with insomnia.

Research shows that CBD can increase sleep time when ingested in dosages of around 160 mg. The same effect was seen in patients that are not struggling with insomnia, but it entailed given them higher doses of nearly 600mg. Interestingly, when administered in micro dosages, CBD has been found to promote alertness instead of inducing sleep or drowsiness.

Various double-blind studies suggest that CBD can be an effective treatment option for anxiety. Research involving functional magnetic resonance imaging, together with single-photon emission computed tomography showed that CBD affected the part of the brain linked to anxiety. The same impact can also be used to treat or manage depression; this is based on a study that involved rats. Further studies suggest that CBD has the potential of being an effective treatment option for anxiety-related disorders like PTSC and OCD.

According to a 1982 study, CBD was found to contain properties that could inhibit symptoms linked to psychosis. In one research conducted later the same year in a South African psychiatric hospital, psychotic patients that were treated with micro-doses of cannabidiol has fewer psychotic episodes. Other studies have suggested that CBD could have a similar impact on psychotic symptoms even on individuals that do not have such disorders.

In a case study done in 1995, it was found that CBD could be a safe and effective alternative answer for schizophrenia, which led researchers to believe that cannabidiol can have beneficial impacts on treating and managing psychosis.

Heart Disease

CBD has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties that suggest it can be used to prevent cerebral ischemia damage, which is a kind of heart disease that increases the risk of stroke. Research on rodents shows that CBD has significant cardioprotective elements.

Since CBD has anti-inflammatory compounds, scientists believe that it could effectively be used as a therapeutic agent in treating type 1 diabetes. Studies done on mice and rats have shown significant improvement in those with diabetic symptoms and a lower risk of developing diabetics in healthy ones. Different research further suggests that CBD can attenuate many of the impacts that high glucose count has on the body.

Side Effects From Chemotherapy

The early clinic trial of cannabis saw it being used to treat symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. By 1990, more than 44% of the members of ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) recommended the use of cannabis to chemotherapy patients. Research that involved studies conducted on rats showed significant evidence that supported the notion that CBD could be a useful answer to treating these symptoms.

Anti-Oxidative & Neuroprotective Effects

Research done in the late 1990s suggested that cannabidiol could potentially lower hydroperoxide-induced oxidative damage, indicating the potential of CBD being a useful antioxidant and neuroprotectant. Different studies also showed that it might have therapeutic properties that can treat symptoms associated with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.

Anti-Inflammatory Effects

Numerous studies have found CBD to have anti-inflammatory effects on mice. The findings suggest that cannabidiol could be used to effectively treat arthritis thanks to its potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. CBD has also been found to have elements that can treat sciatic nerve constriction.
